Scottsdale, AZ - Nov. 14, 2016 - American Equus Founder, David Shano, was on hand Nov. 5 to present Carnival with the Best Playing Pony Award sponsored by American Equus at the 2016 Molina Cup. The match, which was played between the Aspen Valley Polo Club and the Palm Beach Polo Club was the headline event during the 6th annual Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championship: Horses and Horsepower, which is the biggest polo event in the United States, drawing over 12,000 spectators in a single day.

The featured 3-on-3 match was ultimately won by the Aspen Valley Polo Club, whose team consisted of leading American rider Nic Roldan, Melissa Ganzi, and Juancito Bollini and had a final score of 7-5. This was the second consecutive win for the Aspen team at the elite event.

Making its debut at the event, Palm Beach Polo's team of Marc Ganzi, Ricky Cooper and Jason Crowder tried their best to keep the score close but were ultimately unable to match the offensive power of the Aspen team.
Carnival, ridden by Marc Ganzi and owned by Santa Rita Polo Farm, was named Best Playing Pony and received a custom trophy and cooler made especially for the event by American Equus. The Best Playing Pony award is presented to the polo pony that best exemplifies the look and athleticism necessary to be competitive on the polo field.

After the presentation, Shano remarked, "This was a really exciting event to attend and a great match to watch. I am pleased that we were able to sponsor this award and be a part of the day."
